Unified Worship - NO WORSHIP ON SUNDAY, JULY 15 DUE TO VBS

We're removing barriers for an authentic radical worship experience. It takes place every Sunday night in Faith Worship Center at 7:30. This hour of contemporary spirit-led worship and prayer will help you encounter God in a new, genuine way. Click here for a video clip about Unified Worship.

The Brain Health Support Group

This new group, led by Steve Miller from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) meets on the third Sunday of each month. Anyone who is directly or indirectly affected by mental illness, any autism spectrum disorder, a learning disability or a brain injury is welcome. You are not alone on this journey. We exist to help support and encourage each other. The next meetng is in the Discovery room on Sunday, July 15 at 11:00 am. Mark and Maki Wolter Visit St. Mark's

The Global Missions Team invites everyone to a "Welcome Home" Potluck Lunch for Mark and Maki Wolter at Noon in Café Ablaze on Sunday, July 22.
Mark and Maki are missionaries with International Chapel Ministries in Kyoto, Japan. Mark will speak at the 9:45 am Adult Bible Study. A video will also be shown of their American-style home and the missionary work they do in Japan.

50+ Fellowship Potluck

Everyone age 50 and over is welcome to join in the fun of our monthly potluck luncheon. The next luncheon is Thursday, July 26 at 11:30 am in The Crossings. Chuck Elias from the Freedom Foundation will tell about the services and support he provides for local veterans. Please bring a dish to share and your own table service. See you there!

The St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Foundation is pleased to present Dr. Joan DeVee Dixon, organist, and Alice Fiedlerová, pianist, in concert at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church’s Faith Worship Center. This event is free and open to the public. Mark your calendar for the 3:00 pm program on Sunday, August 12. A reception will follow.

Dixon, an Iowa native, is well known for her Czech-American projects. Fiedlerová, a pianist from the Czech Republic, is on the faculty of New York University in Prague. Dixon will perform on St. Marks’nationally recognized, historic 1928 E.M. Skinner Opus 695 pipe organ.

Womens-Bible-Study-webWomen's Monthly Bible Study

Naomi Circle will begin a new bible study, Women of the New Testament, by Phyllis J. Le Peau, at its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 14 at 1:15 pm in Anchor. Embrace Life Conference for Women, October 19-20 in Cedar Rapids

This is a weekend where women from all walks of life, churches, backgrounds and stages unite under one purpose; to be changed so that we can glorify God. Through passionate worship, challenging and inspiring messages, treats and FUN, you will walk away with a renewed sense of purpose for your life. A group from St. Mark's will be attending. Prayer Shawls

If you know of someone who is in the hospital, has cancer, lost a loved one, had a baby, or just got married, please bless them with this special gift. Shawls are available in the church office. If you know how to crochet or knit, and are interested in joining our Prayer Shawl Ministry, either at home or our monthly gathering, please contact Holly at hollychittick@gmail.com for information. 

Days for Girls

Every girl and woman has inherent worth and dignity. Days for Girls celebrates this by providing washable menstrual hygiene solutions, health education, and social enterprises to help them reach the last mile in their own communities.

If you would like to help put together Days for Girls kits, you are invited to join in on any of the following workshops at St. Mark's: 

  • Saturday, July 21, 9 am-12 pm
  • Monday, August 6, 3:30–6:30 pm
  • Saturday, August 25, 9 am-12 pm

You are welcome to come and go at your convenience. No sewing skills required! Bring a sewing machine or serger if you want to sew.

We need more panties, flannel and other donations. If you know anyone that is looking for something to donate to let Crystal know or if anyone has Thrivent dollars they need to spend this year we would be so grateful.
