Japan

Proud to partner with JEMS

We will join our missionary partner, Mark Wolter and JEMS (Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society) on our exploratory trip to Japan in May 2026. This type of FaithLife trip is ideal for those who can create friendships quickly and thrive on interacting with others.

TRIP DETAILS
We will be spending time with our FaithLife missionary, Mark Wolter at the Christian school where he teaches. At their Rise Youth Event, we will have an opportunity to do a skit or teaching. There are possibilities for English classes and some additional time sharing with students. We will worship two Sundays at the Gospel Center Church. Our desire will be to get to know church members and encourage them. In Japan, people come to know Jesus through friends and family. Several evenings will also be spent having dinner with different church families. Also, we will have one day of tourist activities! This trip will include a large amount of walking.

Focus of trip: Relationship building and encouragement of Japanese Christians seeking to make disciples. A typical Japanese church is 20-25 people. The average age of a Christian in Japan is in their 70s. Culturally, the concept of sin and one God is a foreign concept to non Christians.

Mark Wolter - Our supported missionary

“It has been on my heart for a long time now to move towards more personal discipleship as well as more pastoral leadership in order to raise up more leaders for the future. After finishing online seminary in 2022, I moved into a pastoral role at a young church plant called The Gospel Center. My wife Maki and I work together to share the gospel, welcome friends into our home, and disciple new Christians.

70% of the students who attend our school are not from Christian families so we have many opportunities to share the gospel and see kids come to trust in Christ! Maki and I love to have friends and family into our home in order to personally share the love of Christ with them in practical and relational ways.
